Staff are busy preparing the children for their transition to school. Wisps will be celebrating the children graduating from pre-school at their leavers party on Tuesday 25th July. Parents are invited to join the children at 2.30pm in the Infant School Hall.
Wisps are welcoming new children to the setting who are enjoying their settling in sessions before starting pre-school in September. Wisps still have spaces for children who wish to start in September 2017. Wisps are proud to offer the new 30 hours funding, please check the childcare choices website for information and eligibility.
Big congratulations to Toni and her family on the birth of their son who was born on his due date. Toni has visited the setting with her baby so the children can see him and many parents have had the privilege of meeting the baby too.
Wisps will be saying goodbye to Kellyann, who leaves us at the end of the school year after a whopping 8 years. Kellyann will be taking a short sabbatical to spend time with her family during their transition stage before deciding on her future venture. Wisps wishes Kellyann all the best and thanks her for her fantastic commitment over the years. Wisps are sure that Kellyann will pop back and visit the pre-school.
Kerrie will be continuing in her role as Business Manager and will be undertaking the Setting Management position for the remainder of Toni's Maternity Leave. You will find Kerrie in the office 5 days a week from September, she will also be found in the garden or main room of the pre-school at the start and end of each day.
With the warmer weather showing its face, regularly, please send children to school in appropriate clothing with a sun hat and a named bottle of sun lotion.
Water bottles are not needed, children have access to drinking water throughout the day and milk at snack times.
Do you have any items you wish to donate to our summer fayre? We are looking for; unused gifts, toys, teddies, perfumes, bottles (in date, please).
Please can children come to pre-school with a drawstring bag rather than a rucksack as we do not have the space for bulky items. Wisps do sell drawstring bags or you can purchase a drawstring bag of your choice.
We are open for an extra day, our last day of term is Wednesday 26th July 2017.

We say a big welcome to Emma and Stacey. Emma is undertaking an apprenticeship with Wisps and will be working here 3 days a week. Stacey has worked in various childcare settings and will be here full time until December 2017.
Becky who is taking some personal time will be staying in contact with Wisps and working 2 days a week until her full time return in April.
Sam is currently on long term sick since breaking her foot in December, we wish her a speedy recovery.
A big congratulations to Toni who has announced her pregnancy, baby will be due early summer.
Our new members of staff are currently undertaking their mandatory training and our existing staff are undertaking training to complement their roles.
The environment has been our main focus. We have explored both indoors and outdoor environments and ensured that all areas are being accessed and are inviting for all children.
Wisps have purchased a new climbing system to enhance the children's physical development. A lovely sand table and picnic table with a changeable top for the children to play on. Wisps have cordoned an allotment area, Mel will be taking charge of this area and we look forward to growing some fruit and vegetables.
All children have been assigned a new key-person if their original key-person has left the setting.
Home communication books will be sent home at least once every 2 weeks with updates about what your child has been doing along with any other information that you may need to know. Wisps have provided each and every child with a clear zip-lock bag, please ensure these bags are returned regularly as these will hold all pictures and any other communication that Wisps need to send home.
Please could all parents refrain from using Rucksack and other large bags, Wisps simply do not have the space to cater for these. Wisps do sell a logo draw-string bag or please feel free to purchase a draw-string bag of your choice. Draw-string bags take up much less space and will hang on the children's pegs without encroaching in others personal space.
With the weather still cold and muddy, please provide your child with appropriate clothing and footwear so that they can explore the outdoors.
An important message from the Federation Head Teacher.
Please ensure that when entering and exiting the school grounds that you close the school gate behind you. The gate is a security measure.
